The Institute of European Investment Bank (EIB) organizes an annual Social Innovation grant competition, offering the opportunity to receive a non-repayable grant of EUR 50,000 for project implementation.
The topic of the project: an aging population.
The project may include any of the fields related to seniors' social exclusion, including education, health, employment, new technologies, systems and processes.
The project applicant can be a non-profit organization, associations, including business start-ups, social enterprises, operating companies, state and municipal enterprises, universities, research institutes, natural persons or groups, e.g. - there are no restrictions with regard to the applicant's status.
Projects can be submitted in their various stages of maturity and development – from the idea introduced in a specified time period – offering substantial benefits to the public to already introduced projects with tangible results in a perspective of the social benefits that can serve as multiplying best practice examples. Project applicant has to undertake the obligation to use the received grant for the purpose of the project implementation.
Projects are evaluated in two stages: the first round of the 15 selected candidates undergoing free training for a month, during which applicants prepare project proposals for the second round. 2. The winners receive grants or free project mentor services.
Draft tender documents that should be submitted: a completed project questionnaire; brief business plan setting out the proposed product (service) description, the financial evaluation of the project and valid sustainability of the project.
